 Forest Floor
Forest floor, the soil O horizon, is at the top of the soil profile and is primarily composed of organic matter; fressh litteris found at the surface, while at depth all signs of vegetation structure has been destroyed by decomposition.  This pool can store significant amounts of carbon but is also sensitive to impacts from natural disturbance or management.
